![]() Skyline Drive-In will be opening this Spring for another season of fun, drive-in movies. Each ticket permits you to watch two movies for the price of one. Tickets must be purchased on-site at the ticket booth upon arrival. Santee Drive-InĪt the Santee, you’ll find two screens and over 1000 car spots! Four different feature films are screened each night at this family-owned drive-in. Each ticket allows you admission for two movies playing on the same screen. There are currently 3 screens in operation, including the original one from back at the start. The Rubidoux was opened in 1948, and has been upgraded to 21st Century technology. Keep in mind, tickets are sold at the entrance on a first-come, first-serve basis. They show movies nightly and have a concession stand on-site. The Paramount Drive-in features two 75-foot screens and state of the art sound and projection. You USE your OWN CAR STEREO in your car for the sound - they DO NOT HAVE SPEAKERS - you tune to a AM or FM radio station to receive the sound - 3 different transmitters for the 3 different screens. They have a snack bar with decent cheap food, 1.50 for a burger, 3.00 for a LARGE popcorn. The place is pretty clean - and I have never seen used condoms etc thrown around anyplace at this drive-in. THERE ARE THREE SCREENS at this drive in - so you have a good selection of what you can watch. two action adventure - two horror - two comedys etc. I have been going here for years - 5 bucks per person (young kids get in free, not sure the age limit, you have to check that yourself)- usually two great movies with the same theme ie. Kids will get a kick out of it, and you'll save a few in the process. Introduce your kids to a movie theater genre that is near extinction. You can always go semi upscale- stop at trader joes and grab something to eat or get your favorite take out and take it in with you. ![]() ![]() Sit in the back of your trucks and enjoy the urban outdoors(no beer allowed guys) and remember, once this Riverside area entertainment landmark is gone, there will be no more drive-ins in Riverside proper, only Rubidoux(but it isn't even safe for the police there). Take your kids in their pjs with their "blankies" and pillows. The drive-in is still there, but it won't be updated, unless you count a wrecking crane and a backhoe as an improvementin the not too too distant future. Unfortunately, the owner was trying to sell the property to a house developer and the city residents said no we want a Costco(and we still do). The Van Buren drive-in has been in Riverside for decades. ![]()
